About This Spot
Step inside O'Sullivan's Irish Pub in the heart of Escondido, and you immediately sense a place that lives and breathes easygoing conviviality. The warm amber glow of oak wood, the familiar murmur of friendly conversations, and the gentle strum of live music create an atmosphere where time seems to slow down just enough for you to settle in comfortably. Whether you find your way to the lively indoor space or the airy outdoor patio, there’s a relaxed yet spirited rhythm that welcomes both long-time locals and curious newcomers alike.
This isn't just a bar or an Irish pub — it’s a neighborhood hub where small moments turn into shared memories. The hum of conversations is punctuated by bursts of laughter and the clink of pint glasses, often filled with robust Irish drafts or thoughtfully mixed cocktails. The pace here is unhurried but alive, a backdrop to gatherings that range from weekday trivia nights to weekend celebrations with live bands that stir the evening air.
On the plate, O'Sullivan's offers more than typical pub fare, inviting guests into a taste of traditional Irish comfort with dishes crafted to feel familiar yet occasionally surprising. The offerings strike a balance between the well-known and the distinctive—think crispy, comforting boxtys alongside rich seafood bisques and hearty potato skins. These flavors, paired with thoughtfully curated drinks like a dark Guinness or a sharp Smithwicks, seem perfectly designed for sharing over easy conversation.
It's a place where the service feels attentive without intruding, smoothing the way for everything from intimate dinners to larger celebrations. Whether you’re stopping by with friends for a pint or carving out time to enjoy a meal that lingers, O’Sullivan’s quietly earns its place as a comforting spot with a heart that beats Irish and beats local.

The service was fantastic for our large wedding party. They were able to accommodate us and our Bulk order of Jaegerbombs with very little to no wait time. They had live music in the interior and the outdoor area had plenty of space.

Stopped into a small Irish pub with coworkers who recommended it, and it didn’t disappoint. They had a solid selection of Irish draft beers and drinks, and the food was authentic and well done. I was especially glad to see boxtys on the menu—they were tasty and not something you find everywhere. A great spot for a relaxed meal and a pint.

I do love this bar. Food is pretty good. Seafood Boxty is rich but a treat for sure. Live bands are a plus. Trivia night on Wednesday to mix things up. I will say the tab adds up pretty darn fast here. 4 of us went for a few drinks. It's was over $200 . I miss going to the bars and not leaving broke. Those were the good old days!!

We went here while visiting California a few months back. After a terrible experience at the pub across the street and being starving, we went to the only place nearby that wasn’t fast food that still had kitchen service (we called before we hopped over). Even so, the first thing the guy checking IDs told us was “kitchen closes at 11.” That’s exactly what needs to happen! We were already sold. The atmosphere inside was great, ordered some pub fare and had some beers. The potato skins were fresh and we enjoyed the fish and chips. Service was fantastic. I would recommend this place!

Great place to go with my gf. We had some drinks and shared some food. Some musicians came and played live music, that atmosphere was great and the food was awesome. Can't wait to come back!

A good small Irish pub. Arrived on a Saturday morning at 11am. I had the all day Irish breakfast which was good. A little pricey at $25 but everywhere has gone up. My girlfriend had the curried fries and the curry sauce was great. The Bartender didn't know what a Guinness and black was and they had no liquid lime juice for a in style lager and lime. Overall it is what you would expect from an Irish bar. Probably busy when they have a band on.
